5 Friday Favorites: February 20, 2026
It's time for my Friday link up with A Little Bit of Everything and Momfessionals.
On Fridays I share things that made me happy from the week - a photo, a song, a quote, a beauty product, a recipe, a pair of cute shoes, etc. If it's a product, sometimes it's something I actually own and sometimes something I just saw online that gave me a smile. Sometimes it's serious and sometimes it's silly. I suppose I believe that God is in the simple details of life and yes, I can even find Him in a tube of lipstick.
Happy Friday. We had a great time watching Drew’s team win the first two games of the baseball season last weekend. Joe came in to spend Saturday evening with us and we all went to Drew’s church together on Sunday. I was a lucky gal to spend Valentine’s Day with 5 of my favorite guys; Steve, Joe, Drew, Drew’s roommate, Maddox, and his dad, Kevin, who we’ve been friends with for over a decade.
We’re off to North Carolina this weekend to watch Games 3, 4 and 5 and I’m as thrilled to watch these guys play as I have ever been. I simply will not tire of it.
I can’t believe that this guy:
turned into this guy.
What in the actual world?
Here are some other favorite things from the week which I will subtitle The Book Club Edition.
Potato Chip, Bacon & Raspberry Grilled Cheese
Mackenzie Smith Kelley
I hosted Book Club at my house on Monday and made the Potato Chip, Bacon & Raspberry Grilled Cheese Sandwiches from Jen Hatmaker’s Feed These People Cookbook. I highly recommend this cookbook, but you can also find the recipe at The Pioneer Woman here. I don’t want to be hyperbolic, but this sandwich is the best sandwich of all the sandwiches that have ever been a sandwich. I would eat this sandwich every day of my life. This will surely be the sandwich served at the Heavenly Sandwich Shop. Anyway, it was pretty good. ;-)
2. WELL REaD Wine
I was absolutely delighted when I came across a wine called WELL REaD at Trader Joe’s to serve for Book Club. It costs less than $7 which I suppose is a bit of a red flag, but I couldn’t pass it up. I am not a wine expert by any measure, but I actually liked it.
3. Biodance Bio Collagen Real Deep Mask
I continue to see people raving about Korean Skincare and since it is well-established that I’m a sucker for a skin care product, I was so excited when my friend, Jen, brought each of our Book Club ladies one of these sheet masks. I slept with it on all night and when I woke up I was certain Steve would marvel at my youthful glow. Alas, there was no marveling. But what does he know, anyway.
4. The Most Fun We Ever Had
I suppose I should mention the book we read which sometimes becomes the last thing we end up discussing at Book Club. I really enjoyed The Most Fun We Ever Had by Claire Lombardo. It’s described as a “rich, complex family saga” which is absolutely in my wheelhouse. There were some mixed reviews from our Book Club members, but I really loved the family dynamics and how each of the characters’ stories played out.
5. Finding Ourselves in Lent: A Sermon on Peter 5: 6-11
Although I had a basic understanding of Lent as a child, it wasn’t emphasized in my family or my church when I was growing up. In 2022, I was a guest speaker at Aldie Methodist Church the Sunday before Lent, so I really dug into learning about Lent to prepare for my message. You can watch that sermon here. I’d love to hear what your thoughts are on Lent in the comments section. I pray a blessed and meaningful Lenten season for you, my friends..
Thanks for reading. Happy Weekend.
