5 Friday Favorites: October 3, 2025

It's time for my Friday link up with A Little Bit of Everything and Momfessionals.
On Fridays I share things that made me happy from the week - a photo, a song, a quote, a beauty product, a recipe, a pair of cute shoes, etc. If it's a product, sometimes it's something I actually own and sometimes something I just saw online that gave me a smile. Sometimes it's serious and sometimes it's silly. I suppose I believe that God is in the simple details of life and yes, I can even find Him in a tube of lipstick.
Good morning. I wrote so many words this week that when Steve came home from work each evening this is what he found:
Which means this Friday Favorites is gonna be quick because:
I would guess there will be many typos and grammatical errors aplenty. Please ignore. Here we go.
1. The Correspondent: A Novel by Virginia Evans
I LOVED THIS BOOK. I LOVED THIS BOOK. I LOVED THIS BOOK. The Correspondent is far and away my favorite book of 2025. I actually cried when it was over because I will miss Sybil Van Antwerp so very much. PS I listened on Audible and I highly recommend it. Did I mention I LOVED THIS BOOK?
2. Frownies Facial Patches
Never have I ever heard of these Frownie Facial Patches in my live long life and I am obsessed with stuff like this so that’s weird. A friend of mine messaged me this week and said she’s been using these for a month and they work. She also recommends watching the “how to” video.
3. King of Kings by Hillsong Worship
Oh my goodness, this song. Wow.
4. Herb Stripper Bowl
Friends, Romans, Countrymen. Lend me your ears. Did you know about this herb stripper bowl thingy? What is this magic? Who came up with this? I’ve needed something like this for my whole life. Ok, not my whole life, but what in the world? I saw this on Instagram and I was shook. Does this work? Is this real? How sad are you for me that this makes me so excited?
5. Joy Chose You by Donna Ashworth
As I mentioned, I’m pretty much out of words this week, so my 5th Friday Favorite this week is a beautiful poem called Joy Chose You that I came across by a Scottish poet named Donna Ashworth. After seeing this, my first thought was, “Well, she is singing my song.” I hope this blesses you as much as it did me.
Joy does not arrive with a fanfare
on a red carpet strewn
with the flowers of a perfect life.
joy sneaks in
as you pour a cup of coffee
watching the sunlight
hit your favourite tree, just right
and you usher joy away
because you are not ready for her
your house is not as it should be
for such a distinguished guest
but joy cares nothing for your messy home
or your bank-balance, or your waistline, you see
joy is supposed to slither through
the cracks of your imperfect life
that’s how joy works
you cannot truly invite her
you can only be ready when she appears
and hug her with meaning
because in this very moment
joy chose you.
Have a wonderful weekend, Friends.
