5 Friday Favorites: October 10, 2025

It's time for my Friday link up with A Little Bit of Everything and Momfessionals

On Fridays I share things that made me happy from the week - a photo, a song, a quote, a beauty product, a recipe, a pair of cute shoes, etc. If it's a product, sometimes it's something I actually own and sometimes something I just saw online that gave me a smile. Sometimes it's serious and sometimes it's silly. I suppose I believe that God is in the simple details of life and yes, I can even find Him in a tube of lipstick.

Happy Friday! When this publishes I will have an almost-full house. Drew came home this week for Fall Break. Kyle and his girlfriend, Merrill arrived last night and Joe is on his way to meet up with all of us. We have a family wedding to attend so the vibes are high for Mom today. I’m looking forward to being with my family and possibly, but not likely enjoying the Texas-OU game. Vibes for that situation are fairly low.

Let’s get to some Friday Favorites.

1. IUV Cowboy Boots

My sweet and stylish friend, Kathleen, posted some photos of her trip last weekend to College Station to watch the Aggies play and she looked adorable. I messaged her right away to ask her about her boots because they’re perfect. They come in a bunch of colors and are under $50!!

2. Someday Soon by Wilder Woods

My sister sent me this song this week. The singer’s voice was so familiar to me and I realized it’s the lead singer from Need to Breathe, one of my favorite bands ever. This is beautiful.

3. Cutesy Ring

Bows seem to be everywhere these days. On fabrics, tee shirts, sweaters and jewelry. I think this Cutesy ring from Park Lane is adorable and well . . . cute. Comes in sizes 6-10.

4. Somerset Mini Dress from Anthropolotgie

I keep coming across this dress on the Internet and I think it is so pretty. It would look terrible on me - I’m certain of it. But maybe it would look great on you, dear reader! Someone buy this precious dress and send me a photo. It does come in other colors and patterns and a solid black as well.

5. God loves you. Please, believe it.

I usually like to write something encouraging or hopeful in this space at the end of “5 Friday Favorites” each week. And I sat here tonight (Thursday evening) trying to come up with something. But friends, it’s just not coming today. I’m praying for so many people who are hurting and scared and sad and the list keeps getting longer. I understand that my family’s and my friends’ troubles are not unique. My little corner of the world has been shaken, but of course, no one is immune from brokenness and tragedy showing up on their doorstep out of nowhere.

Just as I sat down staring at this #5, pleading with God to give me something to say, one of my boys texted me.

“Mom, more people need to understand how much God loves them. It’s so urgent. Keep writing. Keep speaking. Don’t be afraid what people think. It’s incredibly important.“

Well there you go, friends. Out of the mouths of babes. (Babes who grew up so much faster than I imagined they would and who teach me important truths I need to know all the time.)

So this is what I have today and it’s the gist of everything I have ever written. The most important thing I want people to know.

GOD. LOVES. YOU. Please, please believe it.

PS Having said that, even when I don’t have any pretty words, I’m going to keep on writing and speaking about His love. Because He told me to. And today, so did my kid.

Here’s a little news. I signed a publishing contract a few weeks ago. Please stay tuned here to find out when my book will be released and if you would be so kind as to share this website with others who might be interested, I’d be so grateful. It’ll be a little while before there’s an actual book, but it is happening. Thank you to all of you who have read here over these many years and have supported my rambling. I have prayed about this book for so long. I have prayed about who will read it. And more than anything else, I have prayed that my writing will point people to Jesus because He loves you so much. I promise He does.

Have a wonderful weekend, Friends.
