It's time for my Friday link up with A Little Bit of Everything and Momfessionals

On Fridays I share things that made me happy from the week - a photo, a song, a quote, a beauty product, a recipe, a pair of cute shoes, etc. If it's a product, sometimes it's something I actually own and sometimes something I just saw online that gave me a smile. Sometimes it's serious and sometimes it's silly. I suppose I believe that God is in the simple details of life and yes, I can even find Him in a tube of lipstick.

Hello and Happy June, Friends!

It’s been crazy in Skinner World in the past couple of weeks because there is a lot of change coming up for us. All good change, but lots of moving parts, if you will. I’ll write more on that later because I’m not great at change, but this is all happy and exciting. At the moment, I’m working on adopting a new identity as a girl who flies by the seat of her pants and relishes an adventure. In the meantime, let’s get to some favorites from this first week of June because nothing makes me happier than a fun list of favorites for the summer.

  1. Jcrew Factory’s Summer Line for Men

When we were at the Outer Banks where there are outlet stores aplenty, my son said to me, “Hey, Mom. I need some clothes. Do you want to go shopping?”

I wouldn’t have believed it if I didn’t hear it with my own two ears. MY SON WANTED TO GO SHOPPING. MY SON. TO A CLOTHING STORE. WITH ME. Friends, there have been so few times my boys have wanted to go shopping, I literally thought I would faint from happiness.

The number of times I have seen one of my boys wearing a four year old t-shirt acquired for free from a baseball tournament would make your head spin. Anyway, I finally got ahold of myself and we went to Jcrew Factory Outlet where I must say they are killin’ it in the men’s summer clothing department. We got some great casual summer button down shirts and these linen blend dock shorts were a big hit as well.

Oh, and this sleeveless red linen dress accidentally fell in our shopping bag as well.

2. Dandelion by Ella Langley

I know that when I include songs each week, they are usually Christian worship songs, but I love all kinds of music. This week I’ve been listening to Ella Langley’s new album. The song, Dandelion, is the most perfect summer song to listen to while sipping something and sitting on your back porch or on a dock or at a beach or in the parking lot of a baseball park - wherever your summer journey might take you.

3. Floral Embroidery Skirt/Tank Set

I do not have this set but it’s about the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. The photo makes it look like the top is very cropped, but when I was looking at some photos in the reviews the top looked longer. This would be important for me since a cropped top is not part of the Lord’s will for my life, but maybe this lines up with His plan for you or for your daughter. This set comes in four different colors. Such a perfect summer party style.

4. Tom’s Diana Sandals

Again, I do not have these sandals, so I can’t vouch for their comfort. However, I have had Tom’s shoes before and they were great. My goodness, are these cute. They come in lots of colors.

5. A Message on Philippians 3

Two years ago I spoke at my church, Arcola Methodist, on Philippians 3. The sermon popped up on my Facebook memories this week. Since we have attended two funerals in the past week and then lost a beloved family member over the weekend, I guess God wanted me to remember these words. This is what we call “preaching to the choir.” The Lord is good and kind, even when the world isn’t. Suffering is never the end of the story.

Have a blessed weekend.
