5 Friday Favorites: May 1, 2026
It's time for my Friday link up with A Little Bit of Everything and Momfessionals.
On Fridays I share things that made me happy from the week - a photo, a song, a quote, a beauty product, a recipe, a pair of cute shoes, etc. If it's a product, sometimes it's something I actually own and sometimes something I just saw online that gave me a smile. Sometimes it's serious and sometimes it's silly. I suppose I believe that God is in the simple details of life and yes, I can even find Him in a tube of lipstick.
Hi. I got my first round of edits back on my book so due to getting back to work on that and some other crazy busy developments in Skinner World this week, this is going to be quick.
Before we get to favorites, please allow me to air a grievance of great magnitude. This week the large Diet Coke that I purchase just about everyday from McDonald’s went from a $1.58 to $1.90. Time to add another paragraph to our letters to Congress, friends.
Here are this week’s favorites. Most are courtesy of recommendations from my friends since most of the time I’ve spent on the internet this week has been at thesaurus.com.
Ouai Hydrating Whipped Body Cream
I went to lunch with my friends, Cara and Heather, this week and I smelled Cara’s arm and it smelled amazing.
No, it wasn’t weird. Why do you ask?
She said it was this Ouai Hydrating Whipped Cream in the Melrose Place scent. 5 Stars and a great gift for Mother’s Day.
2.Crisp Power Protein Pretzels
My sister-in-law, Cindy, discovered these protein pretzels. They are really good and have up to 28 grams of protein in one bag depending on the flavor you get. Another 5 Star recommendation.
3.Eurospa Eucalyptus Oil Shower Mist
This favorite comes from my friend, Jen. She says this shower mist smells so great that a guy working outside on her deck could smell it coming out of her house and asked about it. He told her later that he bought it for his wife. It seems that Jen is serving her community every time she showers.
That last sentence seems problematic. I don’t mean to misrepresent my friend. I’m just saying the mist clearly makes its way out of the house in some way and the neighborhood smells delightful.
4. Another Romper
Can’t stop. Won’t stop wanting all the rompers/jumpsuits. I ordered this one recently and I really like it although I haven’t had a chance to wear it because the weather can’t decide if it’s going to be 85 degrees or 40 degrees. It comes in lots of colors.
5.One More to Go
photo from alhelis.view on Instagram
Drew’s junior college baseball season ended last weekend. We’ve got one more season to go before these 22 years of watching one of my boys play will be over. I honestly cannot even imagine it.
I sniped this photo from a post by one of Drew’s teammates this week. And it almost put me in the bed. I don’t have the words or the emotional bandwidth to express how much I will miss this.
[Also, this whole book I’m working on about these experiences will be coming out at some point and in full disclosure I gotta get you sweet people to buy it, so I can’t be writing all the words here ;-)]
For now, I’ll keep trusting that the Lord will walk alongside us as we enter one more season of base hits and strikeouts, wins and losses, postponed games and extra innings. He hasn’t let us go it alone a single time yet. So I know He’ll show up in the bleachers again. Seems He’s a very loyal fan.
PS:
Have a great weekend, y’all.
