It's time for my Friday link up with A Little Bit of Everything and Momfessionals

On Fridays I share things that made me happy from the week - a photo, a song, a quote, a beauty product, a recipe, a pair of cute shoes, etc. If it's a product, sometimes it's something I actually own and sometimes something I just saw online that gave me a smile. Sometimes it's serious and sometimes it's silly. I suppose I believe that God is in the simple details of life and yes, I can even find Him in a tube of lipstick.

Happy Friday! We’ve been hunkered down inside for most of the week due to the snowstorm. Usually I get claustrophobic and stir crazy being in the house for days on end, but I’ve found I’ve been super productive with working on my book this week. This has made me obnoxiously proud of myself.

Mainly because there are so many days I set aside for writing that look like this:

Here are some other favorite things from the week.

  1. Santa Cruz Cherry Limeade Electrolytes

I’ve mentioned that Drew introduced me to these Santa Cruz electrolytes which are so much better than any I’ve tried. I liked the orange, but this cherry limeade is really great. So I am thrilled to announce that I now officially have a new favorite electrolyte flavor. Try not to be jealous of all the fascinating things happening in my life right now.

2. Senserise Striped Pajama/Lounge Set

I have worn a different pair of pjs everyday this week and probably would be able to keep the streak alive well into next week which means that I will not be ordering this cute lounge/pj set. But if your pajama drawer doesn’t look like an episode of Hoarders like mine does, these come in a bunch of different color combinations and look so comfortable.

3. I Know a Name

This is one of my favorite worship song of all time. I’m sure I’ve mentioned it before, but it’s worth mentioning again. I listen to this song almost every morning. Cece Winans’s voice never ceases to bring me hope and joy.

4. Eden Necklace

This necklace from the Park Lane Jewelry’s spring collection is so pretty. I thought the cross was going to be too big for me, but I really like the size. It’s only $52.

5. Small Kindness by Danusha Lameris

Despite the fact that last week I had determined to stay away from the news, I wasn’t able to do that this week. I spent a lot of time reading and watching the news. That got me praying even more for our broken country and our sad, angry, distressed people. No one is looking to this girl for answers or opinion, thank goodness. But I saw this poem on Instagram by Danusha Lameris and it lifted the heaviness for a bit. The line that struck me the most is one I believe to be true with my whole heart: “Mostly, we don’t want to harm each other.”

I’ve been thinking about the way, when you walk down a crowded aisle, people pull in their legs to let you by. Or how strangers still say, “bless you”, when someone sneezes, a leftover from the Bubonic Plague. “Don’t die,” we are saying. And sometimes when you spill lemons from your grocery bag, someone else will help pick them up. Mostly we don’t want to harm each other. We want to be handed our cup of coffee hot, and to say thank you to the person handing it. To smile at them and for them to smile back. For the waitress to call us Honey when she sets down the bowl of clam chowder, and for the driver in the red pick-up truck to let us pass. We have so little of each other now. So far from tribe and fire. Only these brief moments of exchange. What if they are the true dwelling of the holy, these fleeting temples we make together when we say, “Here, have my seat,” “Go ahead . . . you first,” “I like your hat.”

-Danusha Lameris

Thanks for reading today. Have a blessed weekend.
